Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel on Sunday said he was forced to join the All Progressives Congress by his teaming supporters in the state.
Daniel had in a letter to the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party announced his resignation from the PDP, and retirement from partisan politics.
He had a meeting at his Sagamu residence with his supporters who told him that they were satisfied with his decision to leave PDP but would be grateful to him if he (Danie), leads them to the ruling party.
He said, “Basically, they said I could resign from PDP… they said I must lead them to APC and they also said I could not retire from politics. That is the summary of what I heard.”
Asked if he was ready to join APC, Daniel said, “What else can I say? My people have spoken.”
