The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics has concluded plans to embark on indefinite industrial action from Monday, Novermber 13th.

The President of the union, Dr. Usman Dutse said this after a prolonged national executive council meeting of the union, held in Kaduna State Polytechnics, Kaduna.

Dutse said the strike action becomes inevitable as the governmnet has failed to honour the agreement it entered with the union since year 2016.

The union has earlier given the written the President giving 21-days ultimatum which has expired.

Among the demands fo ASUP is the implementation of the NEEDS Assessment Report on Polytechincs and the payment of shortfalls and personnel allowances.

The union is also protesting non-passage of the amended bill on the Polytechnic Act, infractions in the appointment of rectors, as well as unconducive working conditions in state-owned institutions.
