The House of Representatives on Tuesday waged into the ongoing and much-talked about Hijab crisis involving a University of Ilorin graduate, Amass Firdaus and the Council of Legal Education.

Firdaus was denied entry into the International Conference Center, venue of the Call to Bar ceremony of December 12th when she was supposed to be called to bar because of her refusal to remove her Hijab.

The motion was moved by a member fromKano State, Mr. Abubakar Danburam-Nuhu.

He argued that the CLE had infringed on the Firdaus’s fundamental right granted by section 38 of the constitution and urged the House to look into the matter.

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara directed the matter to the House Committee on Justice headed by Honourable Razak from Kwara state Atunwa and committee on judiciary headed by Aminu Shagari from Sokoto state.
