Oyewo Abdulrasaq is 13 years old and a very brilliant student of Olobu Middle School, Ojutu in Ilobu. He is in Grade 8 and his parents are both petty traders, struggling to make ends meet.
He was chosen to represent his school in the annual ANCOPSS Quiz Competition for middle school. He won as the overall best participant at the Local level in Irepodun Local Government and proceeded to Osogbo Zone for the Zonal Competition. Here he did not only daze the other school representatives but surprised the audience with his speed at answering questions correctly. He also emerged the Osogbo Zonal Champion.
At the state competition, participating as the Osogbo Zonal Champion, as usual, he has emerged as the Osun State Champion.
“I am of the opinion that young brains like him are many in our midst, all we need do is to fish them out and help them to grab their destiny” says Mr. Dare Alabi, Asst. Director, Osun Central Education District Office, Ila-Orangun.
“Kudos to teachers and the Principal of the school for fishing him out and presenting him with a path to glory” added Mr. Alabi
