Students of University of Ilorin have cried to the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Governing Council of the institution to come to their aids as transportation hiccups is making life unbearable for them.

They lamented bitterly over the fuel scarcity that has reduced the number of commuters that enter their campus.

Insight Media sighted some students as they were struggling to enter a truck just to get out of the campus after the daily academic activities.

Some students narrated the ugly experience of trekking over 2km in the morning before getting vehicle to convey them to school.

The queue in the afternoon according to them is always “‘not smiling’ as they spend between two to four hours waiting for cabs.

Some of the students who spoke with our correspondent blamed the Federal Government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari over the continuous fuel scarcity while some cried to the governing council to acquire more vehicles as that is the only solution to the reoccurring challenge.

They also appealed to Kwara State Government to deploy more of Maigida transport buses to the school axis to ameliorate the suffering.

University of Ilorin is located at an extreme of Ilorin metropolis and the distance between the school gate and the academic area is approximately 4.6km.
