Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Sulaimon Lasun Yussuff has enjoined Nigerians to embrace spirit behind Easter Celebration.
In an Easter message released by his Chief Press Secretary, Wole Oladimeji, the Deputy Speaker also appealed to citizens and residents of Nigeria to be their brothers’ keeper especially those in government who have the opportunities to alleviate poverty of the people.
Lasun congratulated Christian faithfuls during Easter celebration and successful completion of the lent period and urged them to eschew violence and ensure that peace reigns in every part of the country, as peace is the bedrock of development.
“It’s a passing phase. At the end , we will overcome and victorious. There will be light at the end of the tunnel”.
“Jesus died for the mankind and resurrected after the third day, therefore, it is in the interest of the society and the nation to imbibe spirit of humility and consider the plight of the poor people at all times.
“Every challenge we face as a nation is a passing phases, therefore, there is need for us as a nation to work together for the peace, unity and progress.”
He enjoined Nigerians to remain optimistic about the situations in the country because the APC-led government is doing everything possible to reshape the nation’s economy.
He prayed that the importance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ be felt in our individual lives and our country as a whole.
