Barely one year after Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos was reported to have shunned the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, at a public event, the duo seem to have resolved their alleged differences.
The happening at the wedding of Aliko Dangote’s daughter in Kano last Friday showed that the duo have finally reconciled.
Not only did the two respected monarchs embrace, they sat beside each other and chatted for several minutes to the admiration of many who beheld the sight.
It would be recalled that in a 25-second video that went viral last April, Akiolu shunned an attempt by the Ooni to exchange pleasantries with him. Even though Akiolu said no such thing occurred, both men usually kept a distance from each other afterwards whenever they met at events.
