The constituency relations office of Rt. Hon. Lasun Yusuff has debunked the rumour that the Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives has perfected the plan to join main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party.
Professor Aderemi Ajala, the special adviser to the Deputy Speaker made this known in a release made available to newsmen on Thursday and he described the rumour as “a broad daylight scandal”.
Ajala noted that Lasun is one of the foundation member of the All Progressives Congress who has worked hard to nurse the party.
The statement reads “A broad day light scandal was raised against Rt. Hon. Lasun Yussuff, the Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives and a contestant for 2018 Osun State Governorship in APC political party, that he will soon join PDP. The statement was credited to an online platform traced to PDP Osun.
“It should be noted that Lasun Yussuff is a foundation member of APC, who has contributed immensely to the growth of the party both in Osun state and in Nigeria. He has developed his political career in the party. He is serving Nigeria as the Deputy Speaker on the platform of APC.
“Lasun Yussuff has no plan to join any other party. He can not dissociate from APC to join PDP.
“This scandal is a political blackmail intended to cause hitch on his political ambition to be the governor of Osun state under APC in 2018.
Ajala called on those involved in the scandal to desist from such “if they do not want the wrath of God to descend on them”.
“Lasun Yussuff remains in APC, committed to the ternents of the party and steadfast in the pursuit of its development,” He concluded.
