In an ongoing social media poll, organized by an independent media platform “Oderinuadedayo.com”, Professor Adeolu Durotoye is currently leading the pack of 16 aspirants in a fiercely contested poll.

The poll which started on Thursday 26th of April has garnered about 1,266 votes.

Of the total 1,266 votes, Professor Adeolu Durotoye has so far polled 381 votes, which represents 30% of the total votes cast, and still counting .

As at the time of filing this report, Dr Ayoade Adewopo and Mallam Olawale Rasheed occupy the 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

Voters on the online poll, gave their reasons for preferring Prof. ADEOLU DUROTOYE to other candidates in the PDP.

One of the voters, Ola Awoniyi who voted on April 26th said “I strongly support Professor Adeolu Durotoye for the PDP Governorship slot. He’s a very brilliant, progressive, reliable and promising person. He will Perform very well as the Governor of Osun State”.

Another voter, Adeboboye Roseline opined that Professor Durotoye is ”a man with focus and undiluted love for his people, may God bring this vision into reality”.

Johnson Abidemi also said “ When we talk about leadership, professor Adeolu Durotoye is there. Talk about economics he is there, talk about development, technology, governance he’s there. You can not have a better person to run the affairs of governance in Osun State in 2018 than Professor Adeolu Durotoye. It is in our best interest to vote him, hence our dear state may go in the abyss, God forbid.

As the 2018 gubernatorial election gathers momentum, PDP is preparing for the party’s primary election, opinion polls like this helps the party to know what people feel about various aspirants.

In a separate poll on the same social media platform, the PDP is being voted as the most preferred political party in OSUN for the 2018 governorship election.

The PDP currently polls 521 votes of the total 839 vote cast. The PDP currently has 62% of the votes.
