Build up to the 2019 general elections, youths of Nsit Ubium LGA have staged what they described as “Operation Show Your credentials” on all the aspirants who seek to clinch the Nsit Ubium State constituency seat.
The youths who made their positions on the matter known to our source, revealed that the “Operation Show Your Credentials revolution” is occasioned by a tipoff they received, that some of the aspirants for the Nsit Ubium State constituency seat do not have their original West African School Certificates (WASSCE) and other credentials they claim to have obtained, but forged their credentials in order to get their ways through and contest elections in 2019.
One of the youths who spoke with our source said: “We have come to discover that some of the aspirants seeking to become the House of Assembly members to represent Nsit Ubium State constituency are parading with with forged WAEC certificates. That is why they have refused to publish their Curriculum Vitae (CV) or write in details their educational background publicly, for fear of being exposed.”
The youths further expressed that the only aspirant who presented his credentials immediately after he was anointed and endorsed by Nsit Ubium elders as their preferred candidate is Barr. Otobong Bob, a son to Senator Effiong Bob.
They maintained that Barr. Otobong Effiong Bob actually proved his genuine and sincere intentions to represent the good people of Nsit Ubium State constituency by openly presenting his credentials before the electorates. The credentials, they added, are original, and not forged. Unlike other aspirants who they alleged are parading with forged certificates.
The youths expressed that by parading with forged certificates, some of the aspirants have already brought their evil intentions to bare, and added that with forged credentials, it is impossible to give effective representation to the people of Nsit Ubium State constituency come 2019.
They emphasized: “Otobong Effiong Bob is the most credible and most preferred candidate for Nsit Ubium State Constituency come 2019. He has a sound educational, moral and religious background and will give effective representation void of selfishness and parochial sentiments to Nsit Ubium people.
The time has passed when anybody was usually picked to represent, now we need people with sound educational background in order to meet up with their contemporaries from other State Constituencies.”
“By parading with forged certificates and credentials, those other aspirants have already exposed their ineptitude, selfish and dubious intentions which will elude Nsit Ubium people the effective representation they desire. None of the aspirants has included their educational details to the public, rather they are busy paying people to blackmail another aspirant”, the youths cried out.
They further challenged all the aspirants to show their credentials and authenticate the veracity of their candidacy, while they also called on relevant agencies to launch a campaign against presenting forged certificates and credentials by aspirants during screening for the 2019 general elections.
