BACKGROUND
In the Yoruba belief system, it is believed that a child of destiny is different from his peers who also came to the world to fulfill another mission which may be significantly demanded, but certainly not for leadership, and that such a destiny child would have been endowed with sprawling gift to deliver his mission.
However, a Marxist like late Comrade Ola Oni in line with the argument of Karl Marx submits that suffering and success are organically linked; for one must suffer to succeed. While the belief system of a race cannot be rubbished without foundation in fool-proof fact; experience has shown that life is a mixture of both, for the destiny of a child can only be fulfilled if such an individual engages the nature on the given and asserts his best in any given situation.
Basheer Adegboyega Bello, an acclaim financial expert was born around four decades ago at Ile Oya ward 12 Inisa in Odo Otin local government. What defined his childhood was that he courted so many friends as a young man, he has the habit of
offering his ration of food for others to share. So, he seemed to have exhibited the traits of generosity and love for others, live and let live” from the threshold of his life.
EDUCATION
After Basheer Adegboyega Bello secondary school education, in continuation of his purposeful goals, he proceeded to one of the outstanding and leading University in Nigeria, University Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos
where he obtained B. Sc Finance (Hon), finishing in the top 1% of his graduating set. He further proceeded to Manchester Business School , England where he obtained his MBA with special focus on Corporate Finance and Investment from the great University of Manchester, UK.
He also attended short course program on Leadership at the Premier London Business School LBS, UK and Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania where his skill in area of public Administration and management was further horned.
BABs as he is fondly called is a Fellow Chattered Accountant, a Chattered Tax Practitioner and a Fellow, Chartered Credit Administrator.
He was further recognised as one of the promising young Nigerians under 35 and confer with the Associate status of the Nigeria Leadership Initiative (Associate, NLI) thus cementing his place among notable individuals and Industry giants like Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu, H.E Nasir Elrufai, Olusegun Aganga all been Fellows of the same NLI.

Babs is a seasoned administrator per excellence. a highly energetic and disciplined leader, his sphere of experience cut across Business advisory and consulting, Banking, Oil and Gas Industry and lately Construction, Commodity Trading and Farming.
Babs started his professional sojourn in the corporate sector. He trained with one of the global Big 4 in the Accounting and Business Advisory world, KPMG joining the firm straight from school. He was business advisor/consultant to Industry giant like Shell and other oil and gas companies.
He left KPMG upon qualifying as a Chartered Accountant and entered the Banking Industry. His discipline approach and tenacity leads to rapid recognition at work and further responsibility was bestowed on him culminating in him been named Head of Management Information System of one of the largest Bank in Nigeria at that time.
He swapped the Banking Industry for the Oil and Gas industry Joining the Oando Group as Finance Manager. He will later within 3 years of joining this proudly Africa focussed and diversified group be promoted to the level of Chief Finance Officer Oando Downstream /Coordinating Executive West and Southern Africa operation within the Oando Group. A position he assumed in his early 30!
He was appointed at age 38 , Chairman Board of Director, Ebony Oil and Gas Ghana Limited. Ebony Oil and Gas is the second largest Bulk distribution company in Ghana. This is in addition to other Executive role in places like South Africa, Rwanda and Mozambique
He was also Alternate Director Oando Ghana Limited and Oando Togo Limited.
In his burning desire to create impact and give back to the society, He floated along with others, albarakah Microfinance Bank in 2007, targeting the productively active but economically disadvantaged women and youths. He is still a Director in this bank to this day.
Bello in his unrelented mission to close the economic gap between the have and have not set up New Transformation, a Community Development Advocacy group (with special interest in Girl-Child protection and empowerment. The Group partner with other like mind organisations to train and equip youths with economic tools and equipment. it is on record that over 500 direct beneficiaries of this initiative have success stories to tell since this annual initiative started off 6 years ago. The Group also pay for the Jamb forms for brilliant indigent students annually. An annual intra Federal constituency Football competition debuts last year as a way of fostering social cohesion and belonging among the teeming youths of IBO federal constituency
POLITICAL ENDEAVORS
Basheer Adegboyega Bello joined politics in 2009. He started as a follower from the grassroots; he enrolled himself under the political tendency of progressive leaning, under the leadership of Comrade Poju Odusola. He made spirited attempt to vie for House Representatives ticket in 2011 under the then ACN and in 2014 under APC but on both occasions, political exigency means he has to stand down his ambition for another Aspirant. he however remained in the party for proactive politics till date.

Basheer Adegboyega Bello seems to have gone through rough edges of life; he had failed, he had suffered and he had won many of his battles.
