The Chief Press Secretary to the Enugu state government, Mr. Uwakwe Abugu has been announced dead.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner of Information, Mr. Ogbuagu Anikwe, who said that Abugu died in an Indian hospital on Tuesday, after a protracted illness.
“The State Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has visited late Abugu’s Enugu residence to condole with the family,” the statement said.
Late Abugu was appointed Chief Press Secretary in June 2015.
Before his appointment, he was the South-East Bureau Chief of New Telegraph newspaper.
The statement added that burial arrangements were to be announced by Abuga’s family.
