There was a huge conflagration at the extreme of Otedola bridge in Lagos this evening that was caused by a tanker that caught fire on motion.
Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and Lagos Fire Service have been mobilised, reports the rapid Response Squad via its Twitter handle, @rrslagos767.
The RRS said its men were “on ground to manage the situation.”
An eyewitness who is a tricyclist operating along the axis said “the explosion was caused as a result of spark from a bus that parked near the tanker. The conflagration is too high and over thirty people are dead with several properties burnt.
“I have never seen this type of fire in my life”.
