As the governorship election in Osun State draws nearer, the Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide has expressly thrown its weight behind the candidacy of Senator Ademola Adeleke.

This was contained in a statement released by the President of the council, Aremo Dotun Hassan, Esq after the courtesy visit to the country home of Adeleke in Ede on commemoration of 2018 International Youths Day, a copy of which was obtained by InsightMedia in Osogbo.

The youths council noted that the decision to support Senator Adeleke was informed by its drive to consolidate the noble vision of liberation and entrenchment of rule of law and true federalism.

The group said, “In solidarity support with Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, the gubernatorial candidate of choice for the 22nd September, 2018 elections in Osun State, the leadership of the Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide paid a courtesy call visit to the country home of the distinguished Senator in Ede town of Osun State, where issues of national interest was deliberated upon, progressive development of the southwest regional strategic framework and National debate on the restructuring agenda pursuits was ideologically cross fertilized upon extensively with immediate and long-term panaceas.

“We used the medium to present our letter of Commendation, Vote of Confidence and unanimously endorse Senator Ademola Adeleke as the best man for the job of Osun State Government come 22nd September, 2018 gubernatorial elections.

“As part of our measures, it was affirmed based on his antecedent landmark achievements and exceptional leadership qualities as a true born Omoluabi and distinct role model for the generation now and the yet unborn.”

The group expressed its optimism that Adeleke’s administration will be able to bring dividends of democracy ranging from education, health, infrastructural development and youth inclusiveness into the door steps of the citizens and residents of the state.

“We hope to see a new Osun State under his watchful eyes , where workers salaries and gratuities of pensioners will be paid timely, with a renewed vigour for robust commerce and investment opportunities for the overall interests of the good people of Osun State.

“It was mandatorily demanded that his government shall provide 27% educational allocation, infrastructural developments and 30% appointment of Youths in strategic portfolios, which was consented to by the most distinguished, during his acceptance speech as recipient of the prestigious Yoruba Icon Award as The Ataiyese O’odua of Yoruba Land and appointment as our Royal Patron to the Council,” the statement reads further.

The group also launched in support of Adeleke.

“We found this rear opportunity to launch our campaign slogan tagged: Omo Wa Ni Eje Ose, which was applauded by all well wishers and members of the Council present.
