The Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, will confer the Honorary Doctorate degree on the Oluwo of Iwo, HIM Oba (Dr.) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi.
The institution made this known in a letter addressed to the monarch and obtained by InsightMedia in Osogbo.
The choice, according to the university management, is in acknowledgement of a throne committed to serving humanity and his contribution to academic excellence in Nigeria.
The school added “The award is in recognition of your outstanding contributions as a traditional and cultural icon, outstanding and visionary leader, developmentalist, general role model, and national builder”. The award is billed for the 16th convocation ceremony of the institution scheduled to hold on 24th November, 2018 at the university premise.
The honour will be the 3rd of it kind to be bestowed on Oluwo of Iwo.
