Governor of the state of Osun Mr Gboyega Oyetola has stressed the need for positive disposition by the adherents of different faith in a way to facilitate religious harmony so as to sustain the existing peaceful coexistence among the people.

Governor Oyetola stated this during the inauguration of the Ansar-ud-deen society of Nigeria Ajegunle Lautech branch Osogbo.

The Governor who was represented by his deputy Mr Gboyega Alabi commended the religious body on the efforts put in place to inaugurate the branch with the branch mosque.

He acknowledged the role of religious bodies in spreading their beliefs adding that their importance in the society can not be over emphasized.

Governor Oyetola however stated the need for continued promotion of inter and intra religious understanding in order to sustain peace in the state.

The governor who noted the virtues in the holy books stressed the need for deep knowledge of what was enjoined on the adherents.

This according to him would enable them discharge their religious duties in a way that would not only guarantee harmonious relationship but ensure a better place in the hereafter.

While laying emphasis to the oneness and supremacy of God, the governor called for inter religious cooperation that would further boost the prevailing peaceful coexistence in the state.

In her own remarks, the former Deputy Governor of the state Chief Mrs Titi Laoye Tomori who also spoke on the oneness of God being worshiped in different ways just as she appreciated individuals that have contributed to the advancement of Ansar-ud-deen society and Islam in general.

He also commended the religious body for promoting good virtues among the adherents which according to her is in line with the ethos of omoluabi as being championed by the state.

Earlier, the chairman of the branch and president Osogbo progressives union Ambassador Rasaq Siyanbola had expressed gratitude to the governor for gracing the event through his deputy.
