There was pandemonium in Ilorin on Tuesday when the annual apolitical gathering of Ilorin Emirate Progressive Descendant Union (IEPDU) was hijacked by supporters of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.
The incident occurred at the 53rd annual national conference of the IEDPU where the APC candidate, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq was invited to launch the 2019 almanac of the union.
Eye witness account confirmed that prior to the event date, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in the state had mobilized some youth groups to be present at the event and allegedly paid them in order to hijack the gathering and humiliate the APC guber candidate.
This, according to sources is to swiftly react to the slogan of “O’ toge” making rounds in the state and also mislead members of the public ahead of the forthcoming general election.
