The Social Democratic Party in Osun State has once again told the All Progressives Congress to stop sending out wrong messages to the public over what it described as a “non existent merger”.
The warning was contained in a statement issued by the media of the candidate of the party for Osun Central senatorial district, Otunba Solomon Ayotunde Babatunde in Osogbo on Wednesday.
The party said the warning became necessary following a publication from a side of media on Tuesday by the APC.
The statement added that the SDP in Osun remains united and strongly ready to claim victory in the coming 2019 polls.
The statement reads in part, “The attention of the Social Democratic Party in Osun State has been drawn to the unfounded reports in some section of the media by the All Progressives Congress, Osun State chapter that our party has merged with them in the state.
“It’s so unfortunate that the APC that has been campaigning against fake news can paddle some fake stories to deceive the unsuspecting public. We strongly warm them to stop peddling fake news.
“We have stated it umpteenth times that the APC should wake up from their slumber as our party will never form any coalition with them. What’s in their agenda that will interest a credible party like SDP to join them?”, the party inquired.
They statement added that the party in few days to come will commence its rally to sell its candidates to the people of Osun Central and other constituencies across the state to curry supports from the electorates as the elections draw nearer.
