The APC Standsrd Bearer for Osun Central Senatorial District Dr Ajibola Basiru has charged electorates in the Senatorial District to look for the broom symbol to thumbprint on the ballot.
In a Statement from the candidate’s Media Office, Dr Basiru reminded voters that it is time to show that Osun has joined the League of the Progressives for good n the South West and of course, Nigeria.
He harped on the need for voters to use their index fingers to thumbprint ballots in order to avoid void votes. He also told voters not to allow themselves to be disenfranchised on the excuse that the machine cannot recognise their fingers. If they have been duly accredited and possess the voter’s card, they should insist on being screened again and again.
The APC candidate for Osun Central encouraged the voters to call the attention of the Party Agent and Security personnel to any unscrupulous act from any quarters to prevent malpractice.
The immediate past Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the State advised women to clean their fingers of the local paint called “laali” before moving going to the polling units. He said failure to remove the paints may suggest the women have voted when they have not.
While charging APC agents to be on the alert and report any infringement to security agents on ground, Dr Ajibola Basiru counselled those involved in the exercise to be neutral in order to give the process all the credibility it deserves.
He reminded APC loyalists to protect their votes by staying at the distance allowed by law from the polling area o monitor their ballots.
