Suspected political thugs ambushed and attacked popular nollywood actor and member of Lagos State House of Assembly, Desmond Elliot on his way back home from polling unit.
Honourable Elliot, who is running for a second term in the assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was attacked at Akerele junction in the Surulere part of the Lagos.
He was reportedly attacked after he refused to give money to thugs who accosted him at the junction, Premium Times reports.
Windscreen of his car was broken but the lawmaker escaped unhurt as supporters at a nearby polling unit, PU20, Ward 7, quickly called for security operatives to rescue him.
There was a shooting targeted at the lawmaker but the thugs fled the area before the arrival of security men.
