Sad evening for the students of Osun State Polytechnic as Aminu Sheu, an HND1 student of the department of Applied Chemistry died today while seeking medical attention in the institution clinic.
According to an eyewitness, who claimed anonymous, “Sheu was taken to the school clinic after he collapsed in the examination hall but was later taken to the hospital as a result of the workers’ negligence to duty where he died.
Another source who also want name withheld added that “Sheu was rushed out of the examination hall at about 4pm and was immediately taken to the school medical center where the clinical staff told us that they have closed,” he maintained.
Another source, Ibrahim Babajide, an ND11 student of the department of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) said, “he was at the scenario as an onlooker, but was disappointed in the way the medical staff addressed the victim with no pity and less caution.”
As a form of retaliation on their colleague, the Students of the institution angrily brought out the clinical documents and drugs out after forcing the doors open, and set them ablaze.
However, all efforts to reach the staff of the clinic and the Media Relations Officer of the institution proved abortive.
Meanwhile, the management has ordered the closure of the school gate till further notice.
