Pensioners in Osun State on Tuesday staged a peaceful protest in Osogbo, Osun state capital to demand payment of 15 months arrears of pension owed them by state government.
The senior citizens were armed with several banners with inscriptions such as “EFCC should probe Aregbesola”, “Retirees are dying”, “Pension, Gratuity is our right,”.
Addressing the journalists, the chairman of Forum of 2011/2012 Pensioners, Mr. Yemi Lawal, declared that Osun’s retirees were the most traumatized in the country.
He called on the EFCC to probe the finances o f the state government under the immediate past Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
