Speaker of the State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt Hon Timothy Owoeye has recounted the pivotal role role played by the Governor of the state, Mr Gboyega Oyetola towards his emergence as the 7th Speaker of the state parliament.
Owoeye, who applauded the Governor, disclosed this on Monday, June 24, 2019 when he played host to the Head of Service, Dr Festus Olowogboyega Oyebade in his office in Osogbo.
The Speaker said if Governors can act like Oyetola, the unspeakable and ugly incidents that has characterized elections of the leadership of the houses in Edo, where Governor Godwin Obaseki and the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress are at cross paths and the emergence of two parallel speakers in Bauchi could have been averted.
The Head of Service used the occasion to present his best wishes to the Speaker and assured him of the readiness of his office to work with the legislature.
On the train of Dr Oyebade was the Permanent Secretaries, Ministry of Lands, Alhaji Tayo Hassan, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mrs Folake Bashirat, Mr Najeem Akintola among others.
