The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammed as the substantial Chief Justice of Nigeria on Wednesday.
Justice Muhammed appeared before the Senate for screening at around 11:00am and was confirmed after successful answered questions from the members.
He took over from the immediate past CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen in acting capacity when the latter was suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari early this year.
He was recommended by the National Judicial Council for substantial appointment two weeks ago and his name was forwarded to the Senate last week.
