A video has emerged of a Bayelsa State lawmaker allegedly assaulting the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in the state, Hon. Jothan Amos.

According to a report by Daily Post, the lawmaker, identified as Wilson Dauyegha, was captured dragging, pushing and shoving the state party chairman in the video as shared by APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, who is from Bayelsa State.

The lawmaker is a known political ally of the immediate past Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri and he represents Ekeremor Constituency II in the Bayelsa state House of Assembly.

From the video, it was apparent the confrontation was due to the mode of governorship primaries to be adopted by the party leadership in the state.

Hon Dauyegha was also seen and heard shouting, after he tore some documents reportedly belonging to the APC: “What kind of chairman are you? You are a stupid chairman. I’ll deal with you.”

The party chairman, however, resisted attempts to fight back, but instead remained calm, and asked his driver to take him away from the area.

Meanwhile, Dauyegha, has denied harassing, beating and mobbing the state party chairman, Hon. Jonah Amos.

The lawmaker told journalists that he only pushed the chairman in form of defense when he noticed he (the chairman) tried to force him to sign a document he wasn’t abreast of the content.
