The Executive Governor of the State of Osun, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has approved the appointment of Prince Adegbite Ademikanra as the Executive Chairman of Osun Internal Revenue Service (OIRS).
The new tax helmsman in the State of Osun has over 20 years working experience in Tax Practice, Marketing, Auditing, Financial Control and General Management acquired in Corporate and Public Sector establishments, notably the Banking Industry and Tax Practice with outstanding performance.
A 1993 graduate of Accounting of the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife, ‘Gbite Ademikanra started his working career with the firm of Z.O. Ososanya & Co (Chartered Accountants) in 1994 from where he proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife again for his Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, which he completed in 1999.
As a true academic, he obtained MSc Degree in Accounting from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago – Iwoye. He joined Standard Trust Bank (now UBA) in early 2000 to kick-start his illustrious banking career which spanned over 17 years.
He shone like a bright star in the retail and consumer sector of the banking industry, starting with Guardian Express Bank where he became the Group Head of the Consumer Banking in 2004.
He also assumed the headship of South West Regional Sales of Fidelity Bank in 2012 before he left banking in 2016 to join the firm of Muyiwa Oni & Co (Chartered Accountants and Tax Consultants), Lagos.

The new OIRS Chief Executive is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He is a thoroughbred professional, highly skilled, dynamic, committed and innovative with a proven target driven orientation. He hails from Akeran royal family of Igbajo in Boluwaduro Local Government and he is happily married with children. As a committed community man, ‘Gbite Ademikanra is a member of the Board of Trustees of Igbajo Polytechnic and the President, Klobb Progresso Igbajo. A very sociable gentleman, Prince Ademikanra is a lover of football and promoter of Osun developmental project.
The new Chief Executive of Osun Internal Revenue Service has since resumed office.
Governor Oyetola who recently defeated his arch-opponent, Senator Ademola Adeleke at the Supreme Court is set to be on a fast lane to shore up the revenue base of the State of Osun with the appointment of ‘Gbite Ademianra, a technocrat, a seasoned Banker, Tax Administrator, an achiever, a disciplinarian and gentleman to the core.
