Ahead of the Friday verdict of the Supreme Court over the legal tussle on Osun governorship elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has directed all their members, supporters, well-wishers, friends including allies to embark on a statewide fasting and prayer today, Thursday in order to seek God’s intervention for a favourable judgment for the party and its flag bearer, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke in Friday’s Supreme Court judgment against the Gboyega Oyetola and the ruling All All Progressive Congress.
The directive was contained in a statement issued today by the secretary of the party in the state, Mr. Bola Ajao, a copy which was obtain by InsightMedia in Osogbo.
The statement titled “Thanksgiving, fasting, and prayer” reads “I am directed by the leadership of our great party PDP in Osun State under the chairmanship of Hon. Soji Adagunodo that all members, supporters, well-wishers, friends, and allies of Osun PDP should embark on Thanksgiving, fasting, and prayer on Thursday 4th July in supplication to God Almighty to please answer all our prayers and give Senator Ademola Adeleke and PDP the deserved victory of Osun State Governorship at the Supreme Court judgment on Friday 5th July, 2019”.
Members of the APC have also been praying and fasting towards a favourable verdict in the recent times across the State.
Since June 17 that both parties have submitted their written final addresses before the 7-man panel of the Supreme Court sitting on the case, headed by the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice, Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed, the two contenders for the governorship seat and their allies have shifted the battle to God with several supplications in all manners while the traditional method is not also left out in the struggle for power.
The Friday’s judgment is expected to totally lay to rest the governorship turtle in the state of the virtuous since last year September, 2018.
