The immediate past Speaker of the State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Najeem Salam has described the emergence of Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye as around peg in a round hole.
The three-time lawmaker made the remark on a popular political radio programme titled, “Oro Oselu”, aired by Rave FM on Monday, July ,1st, 2019.
When asked by the presenter of the radio program, Olubukola Omoboriowo, about the present leadership of the state parliament, the newly installed Oluomo of Ejigbo said, “Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye is more than qualified as the 5th Speaker of the 7th Osun Assembly because he started as a Minority Leader to become Majority Leader before assuming the position of Osun Assembly Speaker.
“He is familiar with the business of the House. In the State of Osun, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye remains the longest serving legislator with unquantifiable experience. He has all the possible prerequisites. He has received training from me and Hon. Adejare Bello.”
It would be recalled that Owoeye was the minority Leader from 2011 – 2015 before becoming the majority leader in the all-APC house in 2015. The position he held for eight years.
