The Senate on Tuesday confirmed the nomination of Aliyu Saidu Abubakar as non-executive commissioner of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
Abubakar, who hails from the north-east geopolitical zone, was rejected in 2016 during the tenure of former Senate president Bukola Saraki, Daily Trust reports.
The Senate under Saraki rejected Abubakar because his academic qualification is O’level.
It was gathered that the nominations of Eng Uba Maska as executive commissioner for reappointment, Professor Millionaire Abowei as non-executive director and Abdulazeez Mohammed Salman, were also confirmed by the upper legislative chamber.
Maska hails from the north-west, while Abowei and Salman are from the south-south and north-central respectively.
