The Chairman of Irepodun local government, Ilobu, Hon Abayomi Oyedeji has described the victory of Governor Gboyega Oyetola at the Supreme Court as a triumph for democracy.
Oyedeji in a congratulatory message released on Friday shortly after the court verdict, congratulate the Governor and the members of the All Progressives Congress in the State and country at large.
He said the people of Irepodun local government are happy and rejoicing with the Governor over the judgement.
“The judgement today is an affirmation of the earlier judgement delivered by the Appeal Court. It’s a triumph for the democracy and rule of law.
“We members of the APC have been with the opinion that we won the election convincingly and were ready to defend our victory everywhere,” he said.
The council boss commended the Supreme Court panel headed by the Acting Chief Justice of the Federation, Hon. Justice, Ibrahim Tanko Ibrahim, for their bravery and uprightness displayed in the face of intimidation and campaign of calumny earlier embarked upon by the opposition party to get favourable judgment from the apex court.
The seasoned parliamentarian also acknowledged the wonderful roles played by the trio of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of All Progressives Congress, Baba Bisi Akande and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for being a defensible first star general throughout the struggle.
He also commended The legal team of the APC, Oyetola and INEC, describing them as vibrant and learned individuals.
