The Director, Center for Black Culture and International Understanding, Professor Siyan Oyeweso has congratulated the Governor of the State of Osun, Mr Gboyega Oyetola over his victory at the Supreme Court.
Oyeweso, who was the candidate of the African Democratic Congress for Ede Federal Constituency in the 2019 general elections, charged the Governor to put all the experiences he had garnered towards repositioning the state and ensure delivery of dividends of democracy to all and sundry.
This was contained in a statement he released in Ede on Saturday, a copy of which was obtained by Insight Media.
The Erudite Scholar said, “It is my esteemed pleasure and that of my constituency to congratulate Your Excellency on the reaffirmation of your mandate as the duly elected Governor of Osun by the Supreme Court of Nigeria on Friday, July 5, 2019.
“Like every stakeholder in the politics and governance of our beloved state, I keenly awaited the verdict of the court to resolve the political uncertainty of our dear state, and to the glory of God, the judgement came in your favour. The verdict of the apex court in the land is not only reflective of the wishes of the good people of the State of Osun but also a testament of God’s Divine ordination.
“With the court distraction out of the way, I strongly believe that you will put your private and public sectors experience to the reposition the economy of our dear state, ensure good governance and delivery of dividends of democracy to the vast majority of the citizenry of the state. I’m quite sure that our dear state, under your watch, will soon become a model of good governance, sustainable development, infrastructural development and social welfare,” he stated.
The Professor of History pray to God to grant Oyetola a peaceful, fruitful and achievements-ladden tenure of office.
