Member representing Osogbo federal constituency in the House of Representatives and Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Water Resources, Bukola Oyewo was on Wednesday at the site of the ongoing road rehabilitationbOsogbo-Ilobu-Ogbomoso road for an on-spot inspection of the work done so far.
Oyewo, who has severally stated how important the road project is to him, said the purpose of the visitation was to ascertain the level of work done so far and also hear from the site engineers handling the project to ensure it is completed on time.
In his discussion with the site engineers, he expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of the project, urging the contractor to fast-track it.
While responding the contractor said they started the project from Ogbomoso end of the road and they have done a significant part of the road before the Osun state government called them to come to Osogbo axis, most especially the mostly damaged areas.
The engineer, who said they project was awarded to them by federal ministry of works, power and housing, confirmed that they did the Bovas area in Agunbelewo and are set to ensure the other part of the road in Agunbelewo is completed before Ileya festival.
Hon Oyewo asked if there is any hindrance that may slow the pace of the project again, but the contractor said there were issues sometimes ago, but they have been resolved.
On the entourage of Bukoy are Hon Akeem Olaoye, Hon Temilade Olokungboye, the APC chairmen, youths leaders of APC in the four LGAs of Irepodun, Olorunda, Orolu and Osogbo among many other notable politicians.
