SUMMARY OF THE NfBA NEC MEETING 22/08/2019.

We must first and foremost commend all members for their tireless efforts and contributions to the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and All Progressives Congress (APC) at the 2019 General Election.

Purpose
The purpose of the meeting was to draw agenda on the way forward for ourselves after the successful formation of the Government, and to properly position ourselves for opportunities to participate in the governance.

Report
There was report on the death and burial of one of us, National Assistant Organizing Secretary. (NfBA). Engr Johnson Umukoro. May God grant him eternal rest.

Major Observations
There were complaints that:

1. Our State coordinators were feeling neglected after their tireless works for victory at elections.

2. Our organization became less active and members were left wandering without fate after elections.

Suggested way forward
There were suggestions that we should, as a matter of urgency:

1. Consider change of name now that our President has formed the Government.

2. Be more organized and consider formal registration with the appropriate body.

3. In addition to ongoing negotiation for courtesy meeting with the President, extend courtesy visitations to Senate President, Speaker and some selected Ministers.

4. While paying the courtesy visitations, our demands should be clearly prepared and properly presented.

5. Expand our connections to social media and other conventional media.

6. Occasionally organise Press Conferences to support carefully selected government programmes to maintain our front line position.

7. Collate all our members CVs and get them ready for submission for all possible forthcoming appointments.

8. Be proactive by preparing our own blueprints on programmes to be presented to the President as support to the Government.

9. Start planning for an elaborate annual anniversary to showcase ourselves and our collective achievements.

10. Our States and LGAs coordinators should please always endeavour to replicate and extend our activities at the National level to their respective constituencies.

11. Call an enlarged meeting where every matters concerning us shall be fully discussed and plans mapped out, possibly to hold on the last week of September.

12. Reserve any further suggestions from members till when we are having the meeting.

Above all, we should be time conscious.

Once again, we commend you all on your interest, love and dedication toward the peace and development of our dear Country (Nigeria).

Long live NfBA,
Long live Nigeria.
