Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege on Thursday caused a stir in his hometown when he told Deltans to pray for himself, President Muhammadu Buhari, and all All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, with the exclusion of governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Omo-Agege said this while addressing a mammoth crowd at his country home in Orogun, Ughelli North local government area of Delta state.
Tribune reports that the deputy Senate president disclosed that he was in Delta in respect of the final burial ceremony of APC chieftain, Adolor Okotiebor.
He asserted that “in a short time, Chief Great Ogboru will emerge governor of Delta state,” and urged Deltans in Delta North and South to vote APC in the next senatorial election.
Omo-Agege, speaking after goodwill speeches from some APC leaders across the state, vowed not to let the people down in the provision of democratic dividends.
He said: “I won’t let you down. I’ll fulfill all the promises. Continue to pray for me, Buhari and APC governors.
“Don’t pray for PDP governors. We want to remove them oh. Pray for all Deltans, but don’t pray for PDP governors because nobody knows tomorrow.
“Pray for all Deltans, irrespective of political affiliations, but don’t pray for PDP governors.”
