The Director, Center for Black Culture and International Understanding, Osogbo, Professor Siyan Abdulgafar Iyeweso has said that the only lasting solution to the crisis rocking the nation is restructuring.

Professor Oyeweso said this in his country home in Ede on Monday, August 12 when he hosted his friends, associates, families and students to celebrate this year’s Eid-l-Kabir festival with him.

The event, which can be described as a gathering of intellectuals and highly celebrated individuals, will be remembered for its merriment, reunion and top notch entertainment that was was hallmarked by performances from a High live musician.

In his Eid message, the former House of Representatives candidate for Ede Federal Constituency admonished the Osun state government to tap into agriculture and rich cultural heritage of the state to provide employment for teeming youths and also boost the economy of the state.

He said, “My message at Eid-l-Kabir is basically on two things. First is security and the other is unemployment among the youths, which I do feel bad about.

“Osun state is known to be the origin of civilization of Yoruba. We must harness our rich cultural heritage and background to generate employment for our teeming youth population.

“More so, we are blessed with fertile land that supports agricultural practices. Let’s build a new set of ‘Agriprenuers’ who will not only be employed but also transform the fortunes of our state and nation at large.

“The government, corporate organizations and individuals must work together to create a platform where corps of National Youths Service Corps and OYES cadets will be used for farming in the state.

On the ravaging crisis of insecurity and the clash between the farmers and herdsmen, the University Don stated that the best solution is a national restructuring.

“It’s is obvious that the present structure of the federation is lack some elements that are necessary to take us to the greater heights, so we need a restructuring.

Professor Oyeweso also charged the government and other stakeholders in education sector to be up and doing to ensure that education is revived is the country.

” I’m a product of public education and I can say that what we have today is faulty, I will not like to apportion blame but I know that past government have abandoned their responsibilities to the teachers. We need to come up with packages that encourages and motivates teachers and students. What we have now can not be referred to as education.”

Among personalities at the even are former governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress, Dr Ismail Saka-Layonu SAN, Statistician General, State of Osun, Professor Isiaka Gbolade, former OSHA member, Nurein Adebisi and other friends of Prof Oyeweso.

Others are lecturers from Osun state university, Federal polytechnics Ede, Osun state college of Education, Ila-Orangun, Osun state college of health technology, Esa-Oke, top politicians, youths from Ede among others.
