The immediate past Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Honourable Lasun Yusuff has promised to on yearly basis be giving 20 students of Ilobu who have five credits in the School Certificate a scholarship worth of two hundred thousand naira.
Hon Lasun, who also donated two brand new laptops to the library of Ilobu National Students Union, stated this in Ilobu, his hometown during the Heroes Week Award Presentation on Saturday, October 5.
He said the students must be from public secondary schools and must be ready to further their education.
While stating that the scholarships will run throughout his life, he charged the leadership of INSU to come up with modalities on how the beneficiaries will be spotted and forwarded to him.
Lasun, who said he had not be opportune to speak with students in the last ten years, charged the students of today to be ready to remould and retrain themselves as their certificates amount to nothing in the contemporary world.
According to him, “in the last ten years, this is the first time I’m speaking with students. But today, I want to talk on learning attitude of the students. Apart from your certificate, you need to rebuild and retrain yourself before you can succeed.
” More so, learn from great people who have succeeded on the fields of endeavors. You have to be understand that what you think you want to do has been done by several individuals, learn from them, ” he charged.
