Reports from the Republic of South Africa indicate there is a tension in the Mpumalamga province of the country as South Africans have taken on Nigerian residents in renewed xenophobic attacks.

Though details about the fresh attacks are still sketchy at the time of this report, Channels Television confirms the development through its correspondent in the country.

The report added that the leadership of Nigerian Citizens In South Africa (NICASA) and Nigeria’s consular general in the country are still gathering information concerning the incident and are said to be on their way to Witbank in Mpumalanga province to ascertain the situation.

President Muhammadu Buhari had late last month visited South Africa following same attacks on foreign nationals, including Nigerians earlier last month.
