The National Youth Service Corps has voted a sum of fifty million naira for establishment and equipment of a new radio station, just as the agency has budgeted N127milliom to fumigate its national headquarters premises in Abuja.
These humongous amounts are contained in the 2020 budget proposal presented by President Muhammadu Buhari to the National Assembly.
According to the Nation, analysis of the scheme’s budget showed that it budgets a sum of N208, 800, 055 on office stationeries and computer consumables for the same year.
Under its capital expenditure, the scheme has budgeted N83, 850.000 million to purchase vans. It also budgeted N26, 870, 000 million to purchase residential furniture.
The NYSC also budgeted N70, 000, 00 million for rehabilitation and repairs of office building and another N70, 000, 000 for the renovation of a printing press in Kaduna State.
The NYSC has nine new projects that it plans to execute under the 2020 appropriation document. The scheme also budgeted N83, 850. 000 million to purchase three new Hilux vans.
A further analysis of the document showed that the scheme budgeted N20, 000, 000 million for the furnishing of six area offices. (The Nation)
