Violence broke out today at Okinni, a suburb of Osogbo, Osun State capital as Soldiers, Police engaged in fisticuffs.

According to Eyewitness, the fight broke out after two officials of the Nigeria Army who put on camouflage and drove a Nissan saloon car with number plate KTU-851DC accused a young man, another motorist of blocking their way.

Insight Media gathered that the Army Officials asked the man to prostrate inside a dirty water in the middle of the road as a punishment for his alleged offence, a situation that didn’t go with everyone around the area.

A policeman, who was also not comfortable with the situation moved closer to the scene and tried to speak with the uniform men but received thunderous slaps from one of the Army officials.

In retaliation, the aggrieved policeman was allegedly punched one of the army officers in the face, and within a twinkle of an eye, there was mobilization from the relatives of man accused by the army officers and later resulted to violence and public outcry.

However, the end to the situation was not seen as the men left the scene angrily with threats to deal with each other.
