The Chairman of Osogbo South Local Council Development Authority, Hon Abdulhakeem Olaoye has fingered the immediate Deputy Speaker of Osun, Hon Akintunde Adegboye and two All Progressives Congress chieftains in Osogbo, Adeoye Adelakun and Pa Wale Lasisi as those behind his purported impeachment by the councilors in the LCDA.
Olaoye stated this while speaking with InsightMedia correspondent in Osogbo on Tuesday.
He said the he is not aware of the impeachment, stating that he also saw it social media like others did, adding that he has been in the office since morning and none of the parliamentarians have shown up to give him notice of impeachment.
The council boss said the parliamentarians never invited him for fair hearing adding that they only asked him to present the income and expenditure of the council and he honourably did.
Describing the lawmakers as dullard and incompetent who lack the administrative knowledge of a local, Olaoye said, he submitted the document requested to appropriate quarters adding that, “they are not to receive the document directly from me”.
“Let me also say that all what they did have political colourations. The APC in Osogbo has been factionalized and I don’t belong to the faction of the immediate deputy speaker, Akintunde Adegboye, Adeoye Adelakun and Pa Wale Lasisi who are sponsoring these lawmakers against me. Let me say that I have no apologies for mentioning their names as they are the ones sponsoring this end of year comedy.”
Refuting the allegations of handing over council properties to some individuals and communities, Adeoye asked the councilors to come out and mention what facilities he had given to people. He said the councilors have invited him to several meetings “where agreement on how to siphon council’s wealth were discussed and I held his ground and say no to embezzlement.”
In his reaction, the Chairman of APC in Osogbo South LCDA, Mr Kazeem Adebayo, admitted that the impeachment has some political undertone, describing it as “end of the year comedy”.

He said he and other party leaders will swing into action to ensure it is resolved. Adebayo said the party’s stand remains that “Abdulhakeem remains the council chairman.”
All effort to reach out to the Vice Chairman, Hon Bolanle Ademuyiwa for response proved abortive as he asked our correspondent to reach out him in an hour did not materialize. Calls to his number after an hour rang out.
