The chairman of Osogbo South Local Development Area, Isale Osun, Osogbo, Osun State, Hon. AbdulHakeem Olaye has been removed by the Parliament on Tuesday.
A copy of the resolution of the Parliament during its 11th plenary, forwarded to the State House of Assembly and obtained by newsmen in Osogbo, the lawmakers said Olaoye’s removal takes immediate effect.
The statement, signed by the council leader, Hon Badmus Olaiya, his deputy, Hon Bolanle Ademuyiwa and member of the council, Hon Yinusa Ademola disclosed that the parliament elected Hon Olawale Waheed Olayemi as Acting Chairman pending ratification by the State House of Assembly.
The Parliament, in a document, argued that Olaoye was impeachment based on gross misconduct.
Olaoye was accused of not attending council meetings regularly. The Parliament also alleged that Olaoye’s administration lacked transparency and proper coordination of the local executive council among other offences.
