The Deputy Governor state of Osun, Mr. Benedict Alabi has given the populace assurance that Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s administration will provide mass employment to the youths in the year 2020 and assist the widows as part of the measure put in place to improve their living standard.
The Deputy Governor gave this assurance while speaking at the Food Basket Programme for widows and the needy organised by Ilerioluwa Campaign Marshal, ICM at Ilerioluwa Campaign Office, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo on Sunday 29th of Dec. 2019.
Our correspondent reports that that Mr Alabi while charging the widows and the youths to continue to be hard working and invest in productive business activities that will make them prosperous and self reliant, also advised them to be financially disciplined in their expenses.
The Deputy Governor equally identified investment opportunity in agriculture while enjoining them to be diligent in other to improve their living conditions.
He said God bless the state of Osun with a lot of resources adding that anyone who says he/she does not find anything to do does not want to work.
“Governor Oyetola’s administration is always ready to assist the widows and the needy in the state towards making life comfortable for them,” Mr Alabi concluded.
Earlier in his Lecture titled, Rejuvenating Osun Commercial Potential: An Antidote to Poverty, Commissioner for commerce and industry in the state, Dr. Bode Olanipekun said the economic activities which Osun is noted for in the past has declined and there is need for revitalization.
While providing solution to poverty and low commercial activities in the state, Olanipekun asked the people to ignore the challenges associated with any trade, occupation, or business engagement but to focus on the benefits and means of accomplishing their desires.
The deputy governor also led in the distribution of gifts and new year package for the widows and the needy.
Present at the event were, Secretary to the state government of Osun, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, Commissioner for commerce and Industry, Dr. Bode Olaonipekun, Coordinator, Ilerioluwa Campaign Marshal, Comrade Taiwo Bakare, among others.
