Following what it described as dissatisfaction with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Akwa Ibom State, says it has withdrawn from the re-run election.

The re-run election is scheduled for Saturday.

This was disclosed in a press conference on Friday in Uyo by Ini Okopido.

Okopido, who is the state chairman of the APC in the state, blamed INEC for the withdrawal.

The withdrawal cannot be isolated from the refusal of the electoral commission to accept the substitution of Senator Godswill Akpabio, who withdrew from the race last year. (Independent).
