The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, the nation’s capital, on Monday, granted bail to the former senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, in the sum of N10m.
Shehu Sani was on Monday arraigned on a two-count charge of bribery levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He pleaded not guilty when the counts were read to him.
According to the charge sheet, Sani allegedly collected $15,000 from a businessman, Sani Dauda of ASD Motors, Kaduna, under false pretence on November 20, 2019, promising to give the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Tanko Mohammed, in other to influence some pending court cases against the complainant.
The ex Lawmaker has however denied the allegations, stating that they are politically motivated to silence him.
