A female pastor in Port Harcourt has been remanded in Correctional facility for obtaining money by false pretence.

The pastor, identified as Mercy Daniel was charged to court by the Port Harcourt zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Friday.

The EFCC statement reads, “Justice I. M. Sani of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has remanded Mercy Daniel Ogbonaya, a pastor, in Port Harcourt Correctional Centre for obtaining money by false pretence contrary to Section 1 (1) (a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act and punishable under Section 1(3) of the same Act.

“The defendant was arraigned by the Port Harcourt Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today Thursday January 23, 2020 on one count charge.”
