In compliance with the state government’s directive to all local governments and local council development areas in Osun to take the campaign against the rampaging Lassa fever to the grassroots, the Irepodun local government, Ilobu will tomorrow, Thursday January 30th commence a two-day sensitization program on the virus.
According to the Chairman of the council, Hon Abayomi Oyedeji, the sensitization program is aimed at enlightening people in the local government on the dangers associated with the virus and how it can be presented.
The council boss said the well-being of the people is paramount to his administration as exemplified by Governor Gboyega Oyetola who has instructed all LGs and LCDAs to embark on the project.
He added that the sensitization train, which will be led by him, has medical professionals, advocates and other stakeholders in the health sector.
The train will move from the local government secretariat at 9am and go round major convergent points in Ilobu while a stakeholders town hall will be held on Monday.
It would be recalled that that the state government through the Ministry of Health and the ministry of local government and chieftaincy affairs had during a meeting last week mandated all the councils to sensitize people at the grassroots on the virus.
