Governor Yahaya Bello and his Deputy, David Onoja were on Monday, January 27 sworn in for another term in office as Governor and Deputy Governor of Kogi state in Lokoja, the state capital.

The duo were sworn in by the Chief Judge of the state.

The event was attended by some governors and top government officials among other dignitaries.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Yahaya Bello, candidate APC of the winner of the governorship election in Kogi state. The electoral commission stated that Bello of the APC polled the highest number of votes in the election with 406,222 to defeat Musa Wada of the PDP, who scored 189,704 in the election.

Meanwhile, a report by ThisDay has claimed that all is not well between Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and his deputy, Chief Edward Onoja.

According to the report, there is a silent war between Governor Bello and Onoja over appointments. Sources quoted in the report revealed that Bello rejected the names Onoja recommended for key positions.

The governor had unceremoniously cleared his cabinet, with insiders saying the cleanout is the duo to the hostility between the duo. Bello from the minority Ebira tribe and Onoja from the majority Igala tribe have been friends for long, but it is looking like politics is about to rubbish their friendship.
