Former minister of information under the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr Labaran Maku, has broken silence over the alleged meeting with former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, National leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and others.
Maku said he didn’t meet with the top politicians let alone discussing how to float a new political platform ahead of 2023.
Immediate past president of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers) Aminu Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed (Bauchi) also allegedly attended the meeting.
Maku, the National Secretary, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), spoke on Sunday while fielding questions from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Wakama, Nasarawa.
The 2019 APGA governorship candidate in the state, said: “I haven’t met Asiwaju Tinubu for years and I am in APGA by choice having considered all the other options.
“That I held meeting with Tinubu, others in my country home Wakama, such report is a fake news”.
Maku, who stated that some people were jittery ahead of the next elections, urged APGA supporters to remain firm and continue support the party.
The former minister advised well meaning Nigerians to be law abiding and respect constituted authorities for development to thrive.
Tinubu, last week, paid a courtesy visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the state house, where he dismissed speculations that Buhari had a third term agenda.
He also said the time is not right for people to start talking about 2023 presidential election.
