The Osun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) on Monday commenced a 3-week intensive school’s continuous quality assurance exercise across public schools in the State.

The exercise which is holding simultaneously across the state was monitored by this medium yesterday in some selected public elementary and middle schools in the State led by the Board’s permanent secretary, Alhaji Fatai Kolawole, some senior officials of Osun SUBEB and high powerful delegations of Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Abuja.

The inspection is a collaborative effort between Osun SUBEB and UBEC, Abuja aimed at assessing closely the teaching and learning processes in public schools in the State with the overall objective of achieving adequate delivery of quality education services in schools, especially in the areas of literacy, numeracy and skills acquisition.

While addressing newsmen, the Osun SUBEB helmsman urged the general public, stakeholders in the basic education sector, heads of elementary and middle schools as well as parents and guardians to cooperate fully with the team of evaluators that will be visiting their schools for the period of the 3 weeks exercise, from resumption to close of schools daily for the success of the pupils.

Alhaji Kolawole used the opportunity to reiterate the commitment of Governor Gboyega Oyetola to raising the bar of education in the State to enviable heights.

Some of the schools where the assessment had taken place in Osogbo were Anthony Udofia Government Elementary school, Laro Timehin Government Middle school, John Mackay Government Elementary school, and AUD Government Elementary school.

In Ifelodun local government area of the state, the team of assessor also visited L.A Government Elementary school, Moboreje, Ikirun; St Michael Anglican Government Elementary Middle School, Eko Ajala; ST. Paul’s Anglican Government Elementary school; and Community Government Elementary school, Odofin, Ikirun.

The assessment continues tomorrow.
