Comrade Kehinde Ayantunji has emerged as the Chairman, Nigerian Union of Journalists, Osun State Council.
Ayantunji was declared winner by the electoral committee after defeating his rival, Mr Dele Ajayi in a keenly contested poll at the council chapel in Osogbo.
In his acceptance address, Ayantunji promised to continue from he stopped as the chairman of the union in the last two years. He said he and his team will work to continue setting pace and putting the union on the path of transparency, accountability and professionalism.
“It is crystal clear that the degree of confidence reposed in me as a team leader, irrespective of my age, height and social status undoubtedly remains a driving force that continued to guide
me to the path of purposeful leadership with humility.
“Going by this perfect understanding of the level of expectations from you to lead gallantly with team spirit and be accountable in all ramifications, myself and the rest of my team in the lastadministration set a pace for transparency and clarity of purpose, as we unprecedentedly
prepared a comprehensive report of our stewardship for the last part of that administration from the point took mantle of leadership
“I hereby pledge to sustain that tempo of accountable leadership continually and relentlessly for the general and popular interests of members across board.
“Point blankly, this is not in any way a 100 metre dash, but marathon race of note. I l therefore enjoin you to continue supporting us from all fronts with all your strengths, knowing full well that whatever touches all must be approved by all,” he said.
